Results
  • 44 new build houses approved
  • Site sold to an established house builder
Summary

Firth Rixson, a multinational steel rolling business, owned and operated a well established site on the edge of the Peak District National Park in Glossop, Derbyshire. Although the site was operational part of the property was redundant but subject to access and flood risk issues that restricted its usability. In addition, the site in isolation was not of sufficient scale to interest regional sized house builders or commercial developers.

Having reviewed the site’s development potential, we negotiated an option agreement with an adjoining landowner, allowing us to create a more substantial proposal for 44 dwellings.

Following a complex series of pre-application planning consultations, public consultations, and a detailed planning application, planning approval was granted, and the site was acquired by Wiggett Homes, an established builder of high quality homes.
